IMAGE BACKSTORY: The Ga’an (Crown Dancers) bless the maidens in an ancient and sacred tradition that is a major component of a young girl's coming of age ceremony. The Apache believe that the dance was taught by Usen, the creator, to the Ga’an, the Crown Dancers. These mountain spirits dance for healing and to promote harmony.
